S&D dostává vlastní tvář
Klasický Search & Destroy jsme nechtěli měnit. Chtěli jsme, aby byl víc náš.

Server fungoval. Něco mu ale chybělo.
Náš Search & Destroy server fungoval už nějakou dobu.
Jenže čím víc jsme pracovali na ostatních částech Rusty Brothers,
tím víc bylo znát, že samotný server pořád působí
trochu obyčejně.

A tak jsme se pustili
do úprav.

Původně jen pár drobností...
Jak už to u Rusty Brothers bývá, u pár drobností samozřejmě nezůstalo. 😅

Samozřejmě nešlo všechno podle plánu
Některé změny se mezi sebou hádaly,
jiné dokázaly zabránit připojení na server
a několikrát jsme se museli vrátit o krok zpět
a hledat jiné řešení.

Právě díky všem těm pokusům postupně vznikl
Rusty Addon
Vlastní doplněk, který nechává
zPAM
dělat to, co umí nejlépe,
a zároveň dává serveru naši vlastní tvář.

Základ klasického Search & Destroy gameplaye zůstává tam, kde má být.

Vlastní vzhled, informace a detaily, díky kterým je server opravdu náš.

A konečně pořádné FastDL
Součástí změn bylo také nové FastDL.
Místo dlouhého čekání se dnes potřebné soubory
stáhnou během několika sekund a hráč může rovnou pokračovat do hry.

Výsledek možná na první pohled nevypadá jako obrovská změna.
A přesně tak jsme to chtěli.

Search & Destroy zůstal tím klasickým CoD2,
který máme rádi.
Jen je teď o něco víc náš.

S&D Gets Its Own Identity
We didn't want to change classic Search & Destroy. We wanted to make it more ours.

The server worked. But something was missing.
Our Search & Destroy server had already been running for some time.
But the more we worked on other parts of Rusty Brothers,
the more obvious it became that the server itself still felt
a little too ordinary.

So we started
making changes.

Originally, just a few small changes...
As usual with Rusty Brothers, it didn't exactly stop there. 😅

Of course, not everything went to plan
Some changes conflicted with each other,
others could prevent players from connecting to the server,
and several times we had to take a step back
and find another solution.

All those experiments gradually led to the creation of the
Rusty Addon
Our own addition that lets
zPAM
do what it does best,
while giving the server our own identity.

The classic Search & Destroy gameplay stays exactly where it belongs.

Our own visuals, information and details that make the server truly ours.

And finally, proper FastDL
The changes also included a new FastDL setup.
Instead of waiting around, the required files now download
within seconds and players can continue straight into the game.

At first glance, the result may not look like a massive change.
And that's exactly how we wanted it.

that we love.
It's just a little more ours now.
