Custom obsah je skvělý. Čekat několik minut, než se stáhne, už o něco méně.

Při úpravách našich serverů jsme narazili na problém,
který zná asi každý hráč custom CoD2 serverů.
Stahování.

Custom server znamená custom soubory
Čím více vlastního obsahu jsme přidávali,
tím více souborů potřeboval nový hráč před vstupem na server získat.

Dříve to znamenalo čekání
Hráči někdy museli čekat dlouhé minuty,
než se vůbec dostali do hry.
U větších souborů bylo často jednodušší připravit balíček
na našem webu a vysvětlit, kam ho ručně nainstalovat.

Rusty Brothers servery nově využívají
FastDL
Potřebné soubory se při připojení stahují
z našeho webového serveru výrazně rychleji.
Hráč se tak může dostat tam, kam původně chtěl –
do hry.

Díky tomu můžeme bez obav používat vlastní Rusty úpravy
i custom mapy a hráč nemusí před připojením nic hledat,
ručně stahovat ani instalovat.

Není to změna, kterou uvidíte přímo během zápasu.
Ale je to jedna z těch změn, díky kterým je
cesta do něj mnohem jednodušší.

No More Long Waiting
Custom content is great. Waiting several minutes for it to download isn't.

While working on our servers, we ran into a problem
familiar to almost every custom CoD2 player.
Downloads.

Custom servers mean custom files
The more custom content we added,
the more files a new player needed before joining the server.

Before, that meant waiting
Players sometimes had to wait for long minutes
before they could even enter the game.
With larger files, it was often easier to prepare a download package
on our website and explain where to install it manually.

That's no longer necessary.

Rusty Brothers servers now use
FastDL
Required files are downloaded from our web server
much faster when connecting.
That means players can get where they wanted to be in the first place –
in the game.
